Authors Comments:
Blade has a "Carbonitride Titanium" coating, which the manufacturer claims makes it "10x harder". Anyway, my intent was to match the original bevel, but at 25 deg. I was still hitting near the shoulder, so decided to stop at 25. Blade came out sharp, but would probably benefit from a lower angle. 2/16/13 EDIT: I resharpened this knife, and when I set the bevel, it matched at 21 deg. I don't know why the difference from the previous 25 deg. but thought I'd document the difference.

Gentleman's knife/hunter too, cuts like a laser
Authors Comments:
This is a sturdy knife meant as an EDC for use at the dining room table, kitchen or campsite. One could use it for dressing game but the cleaning would be difficult. L.J.M.

All angles set with Angle Cube, rechecked on each stone. Re-created 18 Degree bevel with Diamond 400 -1000, Ceramic 1200/1600 then 5000/10000 Chosera. With 5/10k Chosera reset angle to 20 , 19 then back to 18deg. to define convex. Continued with Balsa 20, 19 then 18deg. with .5 Microne paste Completed at 18deg finish with Roo with .125 Cubic Boron then blank Roo with a mist of alcohol. Shaving sharp and developing a nice mirror polish edge. Maintenance additional careful stropping will r

Authors Comments:
I originally created the bevels at 18 degrees and polished them to .5 microns before adding a micro-bevel at 19 degrees with the 1600# ceramic stones to give a mirrored bevel and slightly reduced shoulder while making the actual edge a little wider and giving it some micro teeth.
