Gerber Freeman Drop Point 3.5" .134" S30V 56-58RHC 20 3.5um Bottom A.5 Field Dressing, Skinning

Authors Comments:This is a stout knife but doesn't hold an edge like I'd expect from the steel. I initially tried it at 17 degrees but had to go back to 20 to get it to last for an elk or two.

J. A. Henckels Professional "S" 31020-100 Paring 4" 1.5mm X50CrMoV15 ? 20 3.5um Top B Paring

Authors Comments:The steel is not spectacular and while I'd like to go lower, it only really holds up at 20 degrees and up. I like to keep it fairly polished since I mostly push-cut with it. -Clay Allison

Kabar Mule Tanto 3-13/16" 0.135 mm 3Cr13 HRC 57-59 17.5 3.5um 2 B Tactical

Authors Comments:Reprofiled with 50/80 stones to 17.5 degree on each side. Knife if built like tank and the angle holds through abuse. Used all the stones from 50/80 to 1200/1600, then taped 2500 grit sandpaper to the ceramics. Stropped after all that, finishing with 3.5um for a mirror finish
