Kershaw 1745 3 1/4 in. 1/8 in. 14C28N Unk. 17-18 deg. 2ndry with 20 deg. primary .625 Ceramic Top B EDC

Authors Comments:Had a rough 17-18 deg. edge on it... Lightly used the 1000g diamond to clean up the edge, then finished by going thru ceramics to the .625m. Came out very sharp, with a nice little bite to it.

Benchmade 581 Barrage 3.60" .121" M390 60-62 17 deg. (measured) .5m Leather (although lightly stropped so not a mirror finish). Top B EDC

Authors Comments:1st time w/ M390 steel. Slightly lowered factory bevel and cleaned up the edge (came with a very rough finish). See how it holds up at this angle.

Camillus 18671 3 in. .120 in. VG-10 Unk. 21 deg. 10m leather (just a light strop) Top A 1/2 EDC

Authors Comments:Blade has a "Carbonitride Titanium" coating, which the manufacturer claims makes it "10x harder". Anyway, my intent was to match the original bevel, but at 25 deg. I was still hitting near the shoulder, so decided to stop at 25. Blade came out sharp, but would probably benefit from a lower angle. 2/16/13 EDIT: I resharpened this knife, and when I set the bevel, it matched at 21 deg. I don't know why the difference from the previous 25 deg. but thought I'd document the difference.

Spyderco Gayle Bradley 3.5 1/8 CPM M4 I think about 62 RC 15 1 micron boron carbide(HandAmercian) on balsa Top B EDC

Authors Comments:I like this steel. It takes a variety of finishes well but for EDC I like a congress 400 or the 1000 diamonds followed by 1 micron boron carbide paste on balsa the best. This seems to be about where hair whittling starts but it still has some bite. Hope you like it as much as I do.

Protech Runt J4 2 inches 0.11 inches 154 CM ? Mfg angle of ~ 18 maintained ? Upper holes Butted to handle EDC

Authors Comments:Not a lot of blade here. Butted blade up against handle in vise. Tried to clamp with edge basically parallel and used upper holes. Factory bevels not quite equal on both sides, so started with 1000 and worked up thru ceramics in order.
