Ahh.. good point guys. I should have checked the contents of the Pro kit for hints on the most practical progression of stones.

Wicked Edge + 800/1000 diamond stones + 5/3.5 micron strop it is!!

PS. Buying the pro kit is not an option for me - shipping marble to Australia is going to be expensive. Will just have to find something to bolt the kit down onto.

I've decided to take the plunge and buy the Wicked Edge. I am trying to work out the best option that is within my budget.

I don't care about shiny/polished edges - I just want a sharp knife.

Which of the below options would you recommend?

1. Wicked Edge + 800/1000 diamond stones + 5/3.5 micron strop

or

2. Wicked Edge + 1200/1600 ceramic stones + 5/3.5 micron strop

or

3. Something else?
