Cool!

(I was just kidding about the complaining).

Thanks, I knew you were kidding.

I have received the first shipment of WE standard systems and all of them are sold out to the customers, so I don't even have the system for demo purposes (it is an obvious rationalization, I just want a new toy), so this was unboxing of the customer's system.
At the end of the video I show the paperstone base that I ordered from WE and also the base that we made from the piece of countertop material for the customer (we did it for free just to see how it will come out). It is not as heavy as WE paperstone base but I think it will do.

There is a group of what I would call "freehand sharpening snobs", to them any system is BS, like "what this system can do what I can not with just my hands", why spend that kind of money on it. What they forget that they are sharpening not only with their hands, but also with the good quality stones, which are also expensive. And there is also some amount of self interest, one of the most outspoken guys is selling stropping paddles and compounds, the other one is selling Japaneze waterstones

Also some compare the price of EP with WE, but compare US prices as if systems somehow magically teleport to Ukraine. In Ukrainian realities EP is more expensive, the only guy who sells them asks $300 for KIT3 and $325 for KIT4

Hello Clay,

Just curious, why do you feature in the photos and in the recent video FALLKNIVEN F1 which normally has convex grind. That created a lot of puzzlement on Ukrainian knife forums where I posted both photos and vid, most people do not think it is possible to do convex in sharpener systems and while I know that it is possible with WE (I read FAQ) and attracted their attention to that fact still I am curious why F1?

And what minimum angle will be achievable with this modification? If the angle offset is 2 degrees does it mean that minimum will be 13 instead of 15 per side?

There is a topic about WE in Ukrainian knife forum,I posted these pictures to illustrate the capabilities of WE and there was good amount of doubt, some were saying that there is no way such knife can be fastened securely in the clamp. Just curious how you did it

If you can do something so the Dutch beat the Germans at football next Wednesday, I`ll answer some more questions

Hi Mark, I know that this is probably not the best place to do this, but as there is no flame subforum or anything like that in this forum I just put it here

Just a fun video about Ukrainian news reporter trying to film short newsflick about Dutch footbal fans

So this is a new model, I have not seen it on your website and thought it was some model from while back.
Looks very interesting because as far as I understand it eliminates the need for the base? You just clamp it to the table, am I right?

Hi Mark,

Thanks for reply, I know that it is better to ask Clay, but I am sure he is kind of busy right now:)

So I thought that somebody will be able to give me some guidance here. And I thought about some butchers block and also about the artificial stones that are used in furniture manufacturing for table tops.

about this EURO2012 championship, from what I heard you have good team now (I am not a big soccer fan, but the guy who works for me is) so I hope they will manage.

Hi everyone,

I will be retailing WEs in Ukraine and have the question about the bases for WEs. They seem to be pretty heavy (especially granite one) and the cost of the shipping them to Ukraine can easily be higher than the cost of the base itself. So what can be used as a substitute for the base? And how WE is attached to it? have not seen any mounting instructions and on the videos it is already mounted.

I just scanned the forum and a lot of topics seemed to be about waiting for the backordered WEs. Is it a common issue?
