Creating a Mirror Edge - Ultimate Grit Progression with Diamond Stones, Lapping Films, and Strops
These items are the most highly recommended for creating a mirror-edge on your knives. This progression will provide low-stroke counts, and reduce time to create a mirror-edge. This progression is heavy in Lapping Films, which are extremely effective for polishing an edge. Though it's the most effective, Lapping Film does wear out. There is an alternative grit progression which includes Ceramic Stones which takes longer to achieve a similar result, but will provide for better longevity of your abrasives.
