Stationary Sharpener Options for Bushcraft Knives and Tactical Fixed Blades

Bushcraft knives and tactical fixed blades are usually large blades that typically have thick spines. These types of knives can sometimes require wider sharpening angles. For these reasons, you'll want to choose a sharpener that has a wide angle range and a vise that can open up wide to accommodate thick blades. As someone who wants a stationary sharpening system, these are the best sharpener options for you. Any of the below options will make a great choice. When choosing an option, consider how frequently you plan to sharpen, as you'll want to choose a sharpener that's faster and more convenient to use if you plan to sharpen on a regular basis.

Precision Sharpener - WE120

The WE120 sharpener is an excellent choice if you are planning on sharpening your large fixed-blade knives and you have a collection of 20 or fewer knives.

The WE120 sharpener is designed to be mounted to a base for stability. There are two base options to choose from: Aluminum and Granite. If you're going to be moving your sharpener in and out of storage, the Aluminum option is likely a better choice for you, as the granite base is very heavy.

The WE120 sharpener has the widest angle range available for a Wicked Edge (13-35 degrees per side), and the WE120's vise can open up to 1/4".

If you would like to bundle more sharpening abrasives with the WE120 to produce extremely fine edges, choose the Pro-Pack II. The Pro-Pack II is a bundle that includes the WE120 sharpener, diamond stones in six grits from 100 up to 1000 grit, a set of ceramic stones, leather strops to finish your edges, a digital angle gauge, and the Aluminum Base.

To keep your sharpener and all your abrasives packed up neatly and safely, we recommend adding the Hard Carrying Case to your order.

Precision Sharpener - WE130

If you have a larger collection of knives, and some of your knives are full-flat-ground or distally tapered, the WE130 is a great choice. It has the exact same angle range as the WE120 sharpener and the added convenience of the Cam-Lock Vise which is operated with a lever instead of an Allen key. The WE130 sharpener is the great choice for people who plan to sharpen more frequently. Just like the WE120, the The WE130 sharpener is designed to be mounted to a base for stability.

The standard jaws that come on the WE130 sharpener will open up to 3/16". If you have blades that are thicker than 3/16", make sure to add the Jaws for 1/4" Blades to your order.

The WE130 has a Pro-Pack option, which is called the Pro-Pack III. It includes the WE130 sharpener, diamond stones up to 1500 grit, diamond lapping film, leather strops, the Low Angle Adapter, Jaws for 1/4" Blades, a digital angle gauge, and the Aluminum Base. If you're looking to go all-out on knife sharpening with a Pro-Pack that can handle just about anything and create spectacularly sharp edges, the Pro-Pack III is an awesome choice.

To keep your sharpener and all your abrasives packed up neatly and safely, we recommend adding the Hard Carrying / Rolling Case to your order. This is the only case available that's compatible with the WE130 sharpener.
