I was wondering which microscope you were talking about on the website. I was looking and they have a bunch.

Re: Who uses 50 and 80 Ultra/E ...
I love my 50/80s. They cut the time down to reprofile the harder steels like crazy.
I have yet to try them on the "super" steels but I did try it on my kabar mule which was taking me forever to reprofile with the 100 and it literally went from possibly hours to minutes!!
I raised a burr in no time.
I think they are essential in the kit to be honest. As for taking out the deep scratches, I don't think it's that tough.
I've put mirror polishes on each one I've done even after the 50/80.
I would definitely give them a try if I were you.

Re: New Knife Database
Clay,
I think the specs are fine, if not necessary! A good knife database should include all those specs you have listed.
I just added 4 of my new spydercos I just got.
The way I do is sharpen a knives and after I accumulate the specs and degrees on a couple, I then come on here and update the database.
I wouldn't change anything on it.

Re: Diamond Sprays
I just placed the order for some HA Diamond paste. Thanks a lot for the advice. I actually did some research and they said the same thing about using alcohol.
It will actually create a more "sticion" feeling with the paste or spray, but there is no need to go crazy with it like smoke eater did in his videos.
He used them to clean it, which is why he used so much alcohol (I would do the same) but just a bit of alcohol actually helps with the polishing.

Diamond Sprays
I was wondering which diamond spray is best to use, and also if I can use it on my regular leather strops.
I was searching and came across two brands of diamond spray;
1) HA Diamond spray (which everyone seems to know) or
2) Little Stropper Diamond spray
www.vintageshavingshoppe.com/servlet/the...ng-Sprays/Categories
I currently use my stones from 50-1600 grit and then tape 2000, 2500 grit sandpaper to the ceramics, then strop with 5um and 3.5um to get a mirror finish, however I want to take it to the next level and use diamond sprays.
I have an extra set of blank leather strops and was wondering if I'd be able to use the sprays on it effectively.
I was looking to get the 1um and 0.5um spray but do not know the quality of the brands.
Any advice would help!!

Knife Database Issue
I am trying to post some knives I sharpened on the Knife Database that Clay provided but for some reason every time I press submit, it says it was accepted but the knife doesn't show up.
I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem. It has happened to 2 entries I attempted so far. Am I doing something wrong?
