where would i get the "platens" (or the actual stones to fit these blanks) i have looked and cant seem to find them on this site

You can install any kind of platen/substrate you wish on these blank handles. For instance, you might try hard or soft woods with any of the broad selection of stropping compounds available. I've even tried brass with some success. Try to keep the total thickness (platen + double-faced tape) to approximately the same as your other stones/platens to avoid the need for significant adjustments..
