How to Use Blade Stops with the Standard Vise Version 2

The Standard Vise Version 2 on Wicked Edge sharpeners includes three interchangeable blade stops, designed to help you clamp blades of varying heights securely and consistently. Here's how to use them for optimal sharpening results.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Determine Your Blade’s Height

Measure the height of your blade from the spine to the edge. Ideally, about 5/8" of the blade should sit above the top of the vise when clamped. This ensures both guide rods have full travel without interference.

2. Select the Correct Blade Stop

Wicked Edge provides a key with three blade stops. Choose the blade stop that corresponds with your blade’s height to achieve the ideal 5/8" above-vise positioning.

3. Install the Blade Stop

Place the selected blade stop into the vise. Make sure the blade stop’s indentations rest snugly on the two screws inside the vise jaws. This stabilizes the blade during sharpening.
