Mounting Template and Instructions for Making Your Own 100-Series Base

Looking to securely mount your Wicked Edge sharpener with the standard blue base? This guide walks you through the process of using our downloadable template to mount your sharpener to a bench or custom platform. Whether you're setting up a permanent sharpening station or customizing your work surface, this method ensures a stable and precise setup.

Important: The 10/32 x 1-1/2″ screws included with your sharpener are designed for surfaces approximately 1-1/4″ thick. If your surface is a different thickness, be sure to adjust accordingly. For quick setup, you can also browse our ready-made mounting options here: Mounting Bases.

Instructions for Using the Mounting Template

1. Download and print the template: You can find it here.
2. Trim the template: Cut along the solid outer border to match the exact size of the sharpener’s blue base.
3. Position the template: Mark the vertical and horizontal centers of your mounting surface. Place the template where you'd like to mount the sharpener. Use a ruler or T-square to align it and tape it down to hold it in place.
4. Drill mounting holes: Use a 13/64” drill bit centered on each marked hole (there are two, in opposite corners) and drill straight down.
5. Optional: Countersink the bottom: Use a 3/8” bit or countersink tool on the underside of the platform to accommodate the screw heads.
6. Install the screws: Insert the mounting screws through the bottom of your surface and into the base. If needed, add washers to improve the fit.
