Wicked Edge Carbon - WE40

I recently purchased the WE40 pro pack with base at the recommendation of a friend who produces custom hunting knifes . There is definitely a bit of a learning curve so its great that WE includes a practice blade. However, the learning goes quick and over the past few weeks I've sharpened 3 hunting knifes, 4 kitchen blades and and an EDC knife all at different angles and they have all gone from being fairly dull to slicing paper. The WE40 just works and there is a lot of bang for the buck with this system.

I did have a delivery issue where a few parts were missing, but WE took care of the problem and got everything resolved. Its nice to see customer service stepping up when an issue does arise.

I’ve used many different types and price points of sharpeners over the years. So far I’ve sharpened about 10 knives using the WE Carbon 40 and I am impressed! I was worried a “plastic” sharpener might not be durable or precise enough to do a good job. The WE 40 seems to be very well made and the guide rods never so much as wiggle in use. Realize that setting your knives up initially will take a little time but it is crucial for a good end result so go slow and get it right then record/photo your settings for each knife! With practice it gets easier. The consistency of this system along with the quality of the stones and the ability to sharpen both bevels at once make this in my experience the finest sharpener currently on the market! If you have trouble sharpening a tool, this system is foolproof. If you are already good at sharpening a tool, this will up your game. Needless to say, I am super happy with this product. I can see how the higher priced systems are beneficial, but I can’t justify the cost. 10/10 I would recommend this sharpener.

This system isn’t as easy as I thought it would be. But once you learn how to use the WE you will be surprised and then impressed and then really happy you made the purchase!
