Precision Sharpener - WE100 (Discontinued)

I've used an Apex Pro system for a couple years and it has some definite drawbacks compared to The Wicked Edge. Here are the advantages I can see with the Wicked Edge System: 1. It lets you sharpen BOTH sides of the knife at the same time. 2. It sets the sharpening angle precisely on both edges - meaning you can set one side differently than the other, if the knife edge demands it. 3. It locks the knife in place, so it cannot move, eliminating another variable, freeing up both hands to sharpen. 4. It does not risk scratching the sides of your knives from loose grit from the stones, unlike my Apex Pro Sharpener. 5. Its far less complicated than other systems - giving it great appeal to a wide variety of users. 6. lets you easily put many bevels on the same knife.

I received my WE100 today, with the added 800/1000 grit stones. Completely re-profiled my (self made) filet knife and hunting knife. OH. MY. GOODNESS! I thought I had sharp knives before; thought I was pretty damn good... I will truly enjoy this fine piece of machinery. Will upgrade soon for an even better polished edge. I bought this a couple days ago and already all the knives in my house are sharper than they were from the factory. I purchased this product mostly for use on my hunting knives but the guys at my work are already asking me to sharpen their knives and it's so easy I oblige them. I think I may get the finer sets of diamond stones to see just how sharp I can get things. I can still see the marks from the 1000 grit stone when I am done and I think I'd like to see what a real mirror finish is like. The only complaint I have is that the sharpener broke me in right as I cut myself on the first knife I sharpened but it certainly wasn't the products fault. I've learned to be more careful.

My wife gave me one of these several years ago (Christmas of 2010). Just ran through her knives yesterday, and we are still amazed at the ease and effectiveness of this sharpener. I highly recommend it. Simple to use, and relatively idiot proof. Now that they have a knife database, it is even more useful for those of us that are amateurs.

When I bought my Wicked Edge sharpener about 8 years ago at a hunting show, there only was one version - now called the Precision Sharpener. Over the years I have sharpened probably 100 knifes to a scary sharpness. Hunting buddy's that claimed to be expert knife sharpeners using hand stones now ask me sharpen their knifes after seeing my knives in action. The system is really easy to use and does not require a "special" knife sharpening skill to achieve a razor sharp edge that lasts.
