How to Install Your Generation 3 V2 Jaws for 3/16" Blades

Upgrading to the 3/16" Jaws for your Wicked Edge Generation 3 V2 Cam-Lock Vise allows you to securely clamp thicker blades with ease. This guide walks you through the removal of your current jaws and the proper installation of the new 3/16" Jaws.

What You’ll Need

  • 3/16" Jaws for the Cam-Lock Vise
  • Depth key (included with your sharpener)

Before You Begin

Make sure your sharpener is set up on a stable surface. Move the Cam-Lock Vise lever into the upright, unlocked position. Then, adjust the tension knob to its lowest setting to ensure easy removal and installation of the jaws.

Removing the Existing Jaws

  1. Pinch the current jaws together with your fingers to compress the internal spring.
  2. Using a single pin of the depth key, push out the retaining pins holding the jaws in place. Push them out from the front of the Vise.
  3. Once the pins are removed, gently slide out the jaws. Keep them pinched together — there's a spring inside that can easily fall out.

Installing the 3/16" Jaws

  1. Take the new jaws and insert them into the empty slot in the Vise body.
  2. Line up the holes in the jaws with the polyurethane spring and the holes in the Vise.
  3. Reinsert the pins — you can do this from the front or the back. It may take some light adjustment to align the pieces so the pins slide in smoothly.

Final Check

Once the pins are fully inserted and the jaws are seated correctly, move the Cam-Lock lever to the locked position and test the fit on a 3/16" blade. You’re now ready to sharpen thicker knives with a precise, secure grip.
