These rods are a little bigger diameter than my originals. There isn't any slop what so ever in the handles. The extra length allows me to reach out on the end of the blade. I was having the issue noted above about the wobble as the stone moves toward the end of the stroke as well. I had it happen on a regular wusthof 10 or 12 inch chef knife. A really great improvement and Wicked Edge service is fantastic. I had an issue with this order and Wicked edge is always willing to help out make it better or do whatever is required to keep customers. Kudos all around to them. Really a great accessory for the Wicked edge.
