The 3000 Grit Diamond Stones and Blank Glass Platens include our finest grit Diamond Stone and Glass Platen for use with any of our Diamond Lapping Films. This handle pack will provide you with the tools necessary to leave a razor-sharp edge with a beautiful shine. We suggest using the 3 Micron Diamond Lapping Film after the 3000 grit. These Diamond Stones have a break-in period of about 20 sharpening sessions and an average lifespan of 700 sharpenings.

At this point I shouldn’t even be surprised anymore! This system has to be the most amazing system out there, hands down. Every accessory I get for it is just fantastic and makes sharpening much more satisfying. So these stones are no exception, I have yet to get the strops and diamond sauces, but I’m gonna go ahead and give them another great review.

Secret weapon for fast refined sharpening

Used with an angle guide AND placed at the exact same hight on the side of the knife each time when measuring, this stone can do wonders to an already sharp edge. Place 3 Micron Diamond Lapping Film on the Blank Glass Paten side to use after the 3000 grit stones. Refine with 1/0.5 Micron Diamond Emulsion and Leather Strops Pack and you can have a fast VERY sharp edge. (Just keep in mind that 3000 Grit Diamond Stones take 30 knives to break in),

Break in

The diamond stone side seems more coarse and has more high spots than what my 1500/2200 grit stones showed up with. Sure it’s just needs broken in.
